Did you recently buy an aircon or inherited one with your new place? If you’re unfamiliar with it, we’re here to help! We’re Teko.ph, the largest aircon, appliance, and computer services provider in the Philippines, with a guide to aircon modes and settings.

Basic Aircon Modes & Settings

Most air conditioners come with these basic modes and settings:

  • Cool Mode: This is the standard mode for cooling your room. You can start with a temperature of 24-26°C for comfort and efficiency.
  • Fan Mode: Using this mode circulates air without cooling, which is useful for ventilation. It also consumes the least power.
  • Dry Mode: If your room feels humid, select this mode to remove moisture from the air without excessive cooling.
  • Auto Mode: Do you want hassle-free cooling at home? Turn on the Auto mode to automatically adjust the cooling and fan speed based on your room temperature.
  • Timer: You can conveniently schedule the aircon to turn on or off at specific times with this setting. Pro tip: Set to turn on 15 minutes before bedtime to save energy.

Additional Aircon Features You’ll Love

Older, basic window type units may have more limited modes and settings compared to newer, higher-end models. If you have modern units, here are more features to enjoy:

  • Eco mode: If you don’t really need a cold room, turn on this setting to reduce your power consumption. It will make the fan speed slightly slower or the temperature higher.
  • Turbo Mode: In a hurry? This mode provides rapid cooling, ideal for quickly cooling a room.
  • Sleep Mode: For a good night’s sleep, turn this mode on to gradually increase the temperature during the night.
  • Self-Cleaning Mode: Got this setting in your AC? It’s a real convenience! This mode helps remove dust and bacteria from the aircon’s internal components.
  • Wi-Fi Control: This feature allows you to control your ACremotely using a smartphone app.

Remember: It’s always a good idea to refer to your aircon’s user manual to understand the exact capabilities and instructions for your specific unit. The information provided in this blog can serve as a guide, but actual instructions or features may vary depending on the type and features of your AC.
